Minilesson - workshop

The motivation question is the mean to introduce the reading ‘Antonio, sus amigos y los deportes’. This short reading comprehension is going to target some previously learned vocabulary about sports and the equipment necessary to practice them.
The students will be divided in groups of three, they’ll be grouped by ability.
They will have to:
a. Read the story.
b. Answer questions 1 and 2.
c. Create a poster with a chart like the one given to them.
They will be given all the needed supplies: scissors, glue, paper, picture and markers.

By answering the comprehension questions and creating the poster the students will be demonstrating their understanding of the reading and the domain of the target vocabulary.

The teacher will be walking around to help the students and assist them if they have any questions in how to complete the task.

Sharing out
The students will say the answers for questions number one and two.
Then they will show/present their poster.
(If there’s not enough time this will be done the next day of class.)

Summarize
¿Qué necesitas para jugar al béisbol?

Homework
Write a few sentences about your favorite sport and the equipment that you need to practice it.
